How This Photo Lab is Helping Los Angeles Wildfire Victims

The recent wildfire in California has damaged 23,713 acres of land since its start on January 7, with about 5,316 structures damaged or destroyed, NBC News states. In addition to the Palisades Fire, three more regions saw flames engulfing infrastructure, rending many homeless: the Eaton Fire, the Hurst Fire, and the Auto Fire. With entire neighborhoods and blocks completely ravaged, many people not only lost their homes but also the memories they had built there. As part of the community effort to help those affected by the situation, MPIX, a photo lab in Kansas, has come up with a generous way to aid them. Read below to find out more.

In an Instagram post, the company announced that they are accepting reprint orders free of cost for those who have lost their MPIX prints or photo books in the California wildfire. All one has to do is simply directly message them or email them about the work. And the rest will be taken care of.

We are devastated to see the loss caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. We are committed to helping the affected families rebuild their memories.

If you have lost your Mpix prints or photo books in the fires, we will reprint them at no cost. Please contact us at [email protected] or DM us.

Considering the situation, this is an honorable way of giving back to their customers, who have repeatedly chosen the photo lab over others. In a comment, the company has further said that if anyone has lost their prints in a natural disaster, they can simply reach out to the photo lab’s customer service, and they will gladly help.

A small but meaningful gesture like this will go a long way for MPIX. Community building is a part of many corporations, but it is rare to see some substantial efforts in the right direction. Donating money can surely be helpful, but since MPIX is a lab and not a conglomerate, this is the best they can do to rebuild one’s life from scratch. Perhaps others can learn from them and continue to give back to the people. After all, it takes decades to make a house a home but seconds to lose it all.
