Everyone likes a good, bright aperture lens. One of the reasons is that it provides exceptional bokeh and depth of field while also providing immense sharpness. While f1.2 lenses are rare (and expensive for obvious reasons), we have collated this list for anyone looking to buy one for the next step in their career. Whether you are a street photographer or shoot fashion, we have something for everyone.
Nikon 35mm F1.2 Z S
The Nikon 35mm is ideal for various genres. The lens was launched recently and packs a punch. For instance, it has 11 aperture blades, 17 elements in 15 groups, and a close focusing distance of 0.75m. What you will appreciate is the fast autofocus for a full-frame camera, weather resistance, and super sharpness. It is a lens that pros will appreciate, but it is not exactly lightweight, as it weighs about 1000g. But if you want a reliable partner in Nikon’s range, then pick this.
Sony 50mm f1.2 G Master
The Sony 50mm G Master is another excellent f1.2 lens offering for various genres. It has 11 aperture blades, a 72mm filter thread, 3 XA elements, and measures 108mm in length. The lens is weather-sealed, offers good sharpness, has lens character, and is pretty lightweight. The autofocus is also snappy, and the bokeh is creamy. It is everything you would expect from a Sony lens.
Fujifilm 56mm f1.2 R WR

If you are an X-series photographer, then the 56mm from Fujifilm is the best f1.2 lens to have today. Created with 13 elements in 8 groups, it has 2 aspherical and 1 ED lens element. Other features include 11 round-bladed apertures, 0.14x maximum magnification, and a minimum focusing distance of 1.6 feet. The lens offers sharpness at a wide open aperture, it has beautiful flare for extra character, and a sturdy build. In addition, you get close autofocus capability and a soft background. The bolek is also round at the venter and cat-eyed at the edges, which makes the image more pleasing.
Viltrox 75mm f1.2

The only f1.2 lens from a third-party manufacturer on this list, the Viltrox 75mm, is quite a force to reckon with. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.88m, internal focusing, a 670g weight, and 0.1x magnification. The lens feels much better than a Sony G Master, has good weather resistance, and can focus pretty close. However, the image quality is spectacular, and the bokeh is just as engaging. As we said in our review, ” Using this lens is like a breath of relief that you didn’t even know that you needed because you’re so deeply gaslit into thinking otherwise from typical marketing initiatives.” It also costs much less than any other offering on this feature.
Canon RF 85mm f1.2 L USM

Canon L series lenses are legendary, and for good reasons. The 85mm f1.2 is no different. It features a large-diameter aspherical element, an Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) glass element, and nine rounded aperture blades. The minimum focusing distance is 0.85m, the magnification is 0.12x, and the filter thread is 82 mm. What you will like about the lens is the bokeh, which is outstanding, as well as its overall image quality. The lens is also sharp at wide open aperture, has robust weather sealing, and a snappy autofocus. Like the other lenses on the list, the Canon 85mm also gets five out of five stars in our review.
