If you are into sports, street or photojournalism, here are a few options you can easily choose from.
Nikon Z9
Mirrorless cameras from Nikon were good, but they became excellent after the launch of the Z9. A performance beats, the Z9 features a 46MP sensor, and it is the first camera from the company that has a 3D Tracking AF system. In other words, the latter blends a machine-learning trained subject recognition system to give you quick autofocus. It also has 493 autofocus points, and can track vehicles, humans, and animals together in one device. In addition, with more updates, the camera has better low-light capabilities and can lock on people of color much faster.
Canon EOS R3
A 24MP camera, the EOS R3 is one of the best mirrorless cameras from Canon. It features a Dual Pixel AF system, and it can detect people, animals, and vehicles easily. The camera also has 1053 phase detection autofocus points, and it can focus down to -7.5 EV. In our test, we found the R3 to work exceptionally well for portraits shot at night using off-camera flash. Despite the surroundings being almost black, the R3 used eye AF and gave perfect results. But, the latest Canon R3 firmware update makes the mirrorless flagship even faster. Fast enough, in fact, to take photos at up to 195 fps.”
Sony a9 III
Hands down, Sony offers the best mirrorless cameras in the industry. The a9 III is an example of that. This 24MP device offers global shutter, which is perfect for flash photographers. The camera’s low light autofocus is impressive, and it can focus down to -5 EV, with its 759 autofocus points. However, the flagship can’t focus on people of color like the Z9. But there is real-time eye autofocus, even at continuous speed of 120fps.
Leica SL3s
Leica’s L-mount mirrorless cameras are designed for professionals who need performance and a variety of lenses. The SL3s is the latest offering with a 24 MP BSI sensor, and an autofocus that rivals Nikon and Sony. The camera comes with an AF-System (Advanced PDAF + Contrast Detection + Object Detection), as well as 779 phase detection and 315 contrast autofocus points. Sony a1 II
Successor to one of Sony’s most powerful cameras, the a1 II features the same 50MP sensor but includes a new AI chip, a first by the company. It features 759 autofocus points, and overall, it offers major improvements when it comes to tracking birds, humans, or animals. As we said in our review. “It, by far, does the best job at autofocusing on people of color in low light in the realm of Sony cameras. But otherwise, it’s more or less just the Sony a1.” So, if your work requires shooting in low light or people of color, this is your best bet.
