Photographer’s of the world, rejoice. Today is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day (WPPD) 2025! As you’ll recall, this is the time of year when you clear the cobwebs off of your f/180 picture-taking rig and head to your fave destination for a leisurely day of pinhole photography.

Historically decreed as the “last Sunday of April,” the Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day has quickly become a popular annual event with participants from 63 countries uploading pinhole photographs to the WPPD Gallery. The rules for participation are dead simple. Just take one pinhole photograph on WPPD. Then upload it in JPEG format along with your name and a brief description to the WPPD Gallery. And that’s it. This is a friendly, non-juried event that begs creativity and experimentation.

Oh, and that requirement for participation contains a friendly caveat for film photographers. You have until June 30, 2025 to develop, print, and scan your entry for subsequent uploading to the WPPD Gallery. This provision enables anyone with just about any type of camera to be a Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day contributor.
Enjoy.
