In case you missed it, Skylum announced a bunch of upgrades coming to Luminar Neo for Fall 2025. If want to catch up, pro photographer Anthony Turnham has a quick explainer to give you an idea about what to expect. But one of the updates that piqued the interest of his audience is the new photo restoration tool. If you’re curious about that too, Turnham shared another quick update preview to see if the results are any good.
As Turnham mentions in the video above, Skylum shared with him a bunch of images showing the upcoming Restoration Tool applied on old photos in need of restoration. In turn, he shares his thoughts on how the AI-powered tool fared based on the sample results. In a nutshell, while the tool’s performance so far is promising, there are also a few anomalies everyone should be aware of, and it’s reasonable to expect that some polishing will be needed to get to the results you want.
On an important note, Turnham also reminds us that these are just initial samples and we’re yet to see a working beta release to actually test the tool out ourselves. From the initial look of things, we have a lot to look forward to out of the Luminar Neo Fall 2025 Update!
