Google has recently updated its Gemini AI. Now it allows you to edit photos as well with the introduction of Google Gemini AI Photo Editing. No more switching between different apps or opening up Photoshop. I am amazed how Google is doing wonders—every day a new update!
What it Features?
Gemini AI’s new feature allows you to upload your photos and edit them directly within the app. If you upload a picture of yourself, you can ask Gemini AI to show you multiple shades of hair. That means Google has also added the Google Gemini AI Photo Editing feature to easily edit backgrounds, swap objects, or even experiment with different hair colors.
It’s worth noting that the Google Gemini AI Photo Editing process seems pretty trouble-free. Keep in mind, though, that your command should be clear and concise to tell Gemini what changes you need. As a result, Gemini responds with text and visuals that you need. This multi-step editing capability appears to give contextual responses to your prompts.
Here’s a little summary of new features that Gemini AI is featuring:
- Swapping background: Change your living room background to a sunny beach in Santorini or maybe a battlefield if you want to.
- Removing or swapping objects: Gemini can spot things in your pictures and either take them out or replace them. You can ask Gemini to disappear unwanted objects.
- Adding new elements: You can ask Gemini to add elements like a dog, a dragon, or even a rainbow made of cheese. (Maybe don’t go too wild with that last one.)
- Changing hair and appearance: I already mentioned earlier that Gemini can make changes with hair and appearance as well. Try editing your hair blonde and see what Gemini produces using Google Gemini AI Photo Editing.
Like Google’s AI Studio, Gemini AI’s new photo editing features use the same technology. Google’s AI Studio is probably the first platform where users tested creating images first time. Google’s integration of the same capability can be seen in Gemini AI now. Makes it easy and more personalized!
Google says any image edited or created with Gemini will feature an invisible digital watermark called SynthID. Without compromising the quality of your image, Google will mark it as AI-produced content. Nobody wants to present an AI-generated image as a real photo (at least I hope so). Before posting your AI-enhanced creations on social media, this is something you should keep in mind.
Availability
Google launched this feature on May 1, but don’t worry if you haven’t seen it yet. Google says that this is a gradual process and will take time. They might provide access to this new technology in a few weeks. Since I fall under one of the 45+ supported languages and regions by Google, I would be able to test it personally.
Personally, I find this update slightly addictive. I mean, some casual creators could get a little carried away with it and disregard their own creativity. Also, I can’t say that it is totally revolutionary for professional editors. But, for everyday creators who can take it critically and in moderation, the new tool makes their life easy with Google Gemini AI Photo Editing.
Despite its advancement, remember that it is AI, not Harry Potter’s magic wand. Don’t expect it to be perfect every time.
