Sigma lenses have earned their title for delivering clarity and sharpness, but at cost-effective rates. The Japanese third-party lens maker has come a very long way, and in more recent time, have been exploring new avenues in their patents. For example, recently, they have been researching wide aperture prime lenses, which could further help users to explore new avenues. Like that, the company seem to also be looking to create a new all-in-one zoom, which can help travel photographers.
According to Asobinet, the company published a new patent on Auguts 27, number P2025125276. The lens in question is 16-300mm f3.5-6.7, which features a ratio of 15x or more. This patent could be designed to help further perfect the base for all-in-one lens. Let’s have a look:

For instance, making it smaller, since the lens approcimately measures 2.9in. x 4.9in. Or, this could be just another patent that does not see the light of the day.
Either way, it is exciting to see Sigma catching uo Tamron, who already has a plethora of all-in-one zoom lenses. They also have a 18-300mm, costs under $700, just like the Sigma. With more and more photographers opting all in one lens, Signa has a chance to win.
