Stroppa’s colorful camera straps certainly add much more character to your camera’s look and to you as a photographer. Until now, they’ve been made to order, often with wait times that seem long. It’s great to see Stroppa now come out with a faster way of getting your hands on their straps
A niche brand known for its interesting design and aesthetic appeal, Stroppa is a Polish brand that makes handcrafted camera straps. These soft, often uniquely designed straps are delightful for those who treat their cameras with kid gloves. If leather straps and even the brand stock straps aren’t something you like sporting around your neck, then the selection from Stroppa is well worth checking out. It’s certainly softer than most of the popular rope/cord type of camera straps you’ve seen doing the rounds on the internet. However, getting your hands on these straps right away wasn’t all that straightforward, owing to lengthy wait times resulting from these straps being painstakingly handcrafted on order, often custom-designed. That’s about to change for now with Stroppa’s new Drops feature.
Stroppa Drops
After 8 years of handcrafting straps on demand, Stroppa Drops allows you to order and receive these wonderfully designed straps much faster. You can now order from a selection of straps chosen by the experts at Stroppa, allowing you to select from a wide variety of designs. They’re all still handmade using the same durable rope and Italian veg-tan leather that previous buyers have loved; it’s just that now you can choose from designs readily available to ship. It’s perfect for those among us who can’t wait to get our hands on some of these eye-catching straps.

We certainly enjoyed using their Flat strap some years ago, as you can read in our review:
“The Stroppa Flat Camera strap is built very well. The split rings are standard but a tad heavier than normal. They’re not the Holdfast Gear or TAP and DYE split rings that I’m convinced could probably hold my weight for a few seconds, but they’re very strong – especially on a Leica CL. When you sling the Stroppa Flat Camera strap and a camera around your neck, you’ll be amazed at how much natural padding there is. Because it’s designed to be so incredibly solid and thick, it allows the skin underneath it to breathe.”
Limited Stock, Refreshed Often

Each Stroppa Drop will have a limited number of straps, but the manufacturer promises to quickly bring out the next drop soon after. According to the folks who make them, each drop has a story behind it. Also, some one-off uniquely designed models will also be there that can sell out soon, so keep your eyes on the Stroppa website to see if something catches your fancy.
Discounted Pricing Too
Since the Drops collection isn’t made to order, Stropps is offering a 20% discount on it compared to its bespoke option. This price drop helps with offsetting any EU import tariffs that US customers would otherwise be subject to.
To a stylish photographer, a camera strap is as much a fashion accessory for their daily styling, as a good watch or hat is. Straps like these don’t just add a dash of pizazz to the look of the camera, they add to your personality as well if you carry them off. I’m more of an original leather strap kind of guy, but I have to admit these Stroppa straps could find their place on some of my more unique vintage camera models like my Kodak Disc 400. While I’ve never felt one of these in hand, they look like they’d be incredibly soft but also sturdy enough to hold your camera securely around your neck or wrist.
If you’d like to order one today, head over to the Stroppa website to select your favorite from their first drop.
