Fujifilm may not have the largest sales graph like its competitors, but the company has consistently proven its immense popularity amongst varied strata of photographers. They launched some truly iconic cameras, which were instantly sold out when launched. However, due to its smaller research and development team, Fujifilm has often faced a challenge in meeting the growing demand. Either way, they have repeatedly proven what makes their innovation a notch above others. Here is a quick look at a few of the Best Fujifilm cameras that affected its success graph in a positive way.
Fujifilm X100: The Start
The Fujifilm X100 was launched in 2011 and began the long tradition of SLR-sized APS-C cameras that many have come to love. This is designed for professional photographers who want a retro body with powerful sensors and battery life. The camera featured a 12MP CMOS sensor, a 23mm f2 lens, a hybrid viewfinder, traditional dials for control, and could record 720 HD video. Fujifilm X Pro 1: Still One of the Best Fujifilm Cameras
You may have seen us write about the X Pro 4 launch often, and there is a why we love this lineup so much. The X Pro 1 is designed for high-end users and comes with a Leica M9-P design but with a 16MP APS-C mirrorless sensor. It comes with 49 autofocus points, a high ISO of up to 25,600, a mechanical shutter of up to 1/4000 sec, 6fps of continuous shooting, and is truly compact. Some of its stand-out points include excellent ergonomics, consistent performance, superb image quality, and RAW file versatility. However, the only thing holding it back is the autofocus compared to modern day cameras.
Fujifilm X-T3: A Great One in Many Ways
A workhorse camera, the X-T3 is designed for both photographers and videographers alike who want a powerful crop-sensored camera. The device features a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, X-Processor 4, 3.69 million dot OLED viewfinder, 30fps of continuous shooting speed, 1080p video recording, and a robust magnesium alloy body. The camera offers excellent weather sealing and build quality and features dual SD card slots. It also produces beautiful images, has multiple film simulations with RAW files, and can also capture fantastic videos. Fujifilm GFX 50s: The Start of Digital Medium Format
Photographers always wanted a mirrorless medium format camera, and Fujifilm responded to that request with the GFX 50s. The camera houses a 51MP sensor inside a traditional body, captures 14-bit RAW files, and has a mechanical shutter for 1/4000 sec and an electronic shutter of 1/16000 sec. It captures 3 frames per second continuously and can also record 1080p HD videos. Designed for professional photographers, the camera can work best for weddings and portraits rather than being taken on the field to shoot sports or events. Fujifilm GFX 50R: Rangefinder Medium Format; Our Favorite of the Best Fujifilm Cameras
After the success of the 50s, the company launched GFX 50R, a camera that is not designed to be used in the studio. It offers the same 51MP medium format sensor, an X-Processor Pro, which has 3fps of continuous shooting and 1080p of video recording. It is weather-sealed, robustly built, offers high-speed sync with the Profoto Air system, and has great ergonomics. In our review, we said: “The Fujifilm GFX 50R is a camera that is meant to be out there with you. This is reflected in the autofocus, the size, the weight, the overall philosophy behind the camera, and the feel.” The image quality is great, and the ISO output at higher ranges is also exceptional.
