Today at Computex 2025, Micron Technology unveiled two new additions to its Crucial storage lineup designed to meet the rigorous demands of photographers and filmmakers. There’s the ultra-portable Crucial X10 USB SSD, and the high-performance Crucial T710 PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD.
These drives combine blazing transfer speeds, generous capacities, and rugged designs to streamline on-location workflows and accelerate multicam editing and other post-production tasks.

Crucial X10 USB SSD
The Crucial X10 is a sleek, portable SSD designed for content creators who need fast, reliable storage in the field. With sequential read speeds up to 2,100 MB/s – twice as fast as its X9 and X9 Pro predecessors – the X10 massively reduces file-transfer times when offloading large photos or 4K/8K video clips to your editing station.
Durability is front and centre with the X10. Its matte-blue chassis is IP65-rated against dust and water ingress and drop-resistant from heights up to 9.8 feet. So it can withstand bumps on set or in your camera bag. The X10 balances this durability with speed that makes it an ideal backup drive for use in the field.
It’s available in capacities up to a whopping 8TB, making those fast USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 read speeds essential when you get back home and want to unload those photos and videos to your editing machine.

Crucial T710 M.2 NVMe SSD
For those working on desktop workstations or high-end laptops, the Crucial T710 brings PCIe Gen5 performance to creative workloads. Leveraging Micron’s G9 NAND and Silicon Motion’s SM2508 controller, the T710 delivers up to 14,900 MB/s sequential read and 13,800 MB/s sequential write speeds – the companies fastest Gen5 drive so far.
This means your SSD will never be the bottleneck when transferring files or editing photos or video footage. It also has random I/O performance of up to 2.2 million and 2.3 million reads and writes per second, respectively. So, it’ll be able to handle some huge Lightroom catalogues.

Available in capacities up to 4TB, the Crucial T710 makes for an ideal project drive for editing or a system drive for your operating system and software. With footage constantly getting higher in resolution, with increased bit rates, fast transfer speeds are vital in today’s video editing workflow, especially if you’re editing multicam footage.
Price and Availability
The Crucial X10 will be available to buy any day now in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, 6TB and 8TB capacities. The Crucial T710 is will be available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities with or without a heatsink. You’ll have to wait a little while for that one, though, it doesn’t begin shipping until July.
