Godox has built a reputation providing professional and amateur photographers with tools that are smart, practical, and more advanced than what they expected. The new X3Pro wireless flash trigger continues this tradition. It retains the portable design of the original X3 while adding some professional-grade controls. This makes it easier to manage multiple lights and groups, all while making the experience more enjoyable.
Powerful Control, Precise Adjustments
At first glance, the Godox X3Pro may seem like a tiny upgrade to the compact X3 trigger. But when you start closely comparing the features and stats, it seems a bit more than minor. While the X3 had a minimal design with basic group control and a simple touchscreen, the X3Pro features a larger 2.4-inch display that shows four groups at the same time. It allows complete adjustments for zoom, modeling lamps, and TCM for each group. The new shooting modes work well with Sekonic L-858 light meters. With Bluetooth app control, creative shutter programming, and a longer-lasting battery, the X3Pro is more than an entry-level tool; it becomes a pocket-sized command center for professional lighting setups.

At the center of the X3Pro is a 2.4-inch touchscreen. Bright and responsive, it shows you four lighting groups at once, while supporting control of up to sixteen. This is where the Godox X3Pro earns its Pro moniker. Instead of scrolling through the menu on a strobe like the new Godox Ad400 Pro II, you can tap, swipe, and adjust settings in seconds from the trigger itself. This means less time fiddling around with settings when you can be shooting and creating wonderful photos. You can tweak zoom values, modeling lamps, and TCM transforms for precise control. Save your setups and recall them instantly when you need to change things on set.
Wireless And Seamless

Godox’s 2.4GHz Wireless X system is already trusted in studios and on location shoots. The X3Pro improves that reliability with interference scanning and strong triggering, even in crowded environments.
The trigger has three modes meant for real workflows.
- One Shoot sends just a trigger signal, which is great for individual shooters.
- All Shoot sends both settings and trigger signals upon click, making it perfect for team sessions.
- L-858 Mode works with Sekonic’s light meter of the same name, syncing flashes accurately for meter-based control.
Smartphone Control, Creative Tricks

I’m not sure how many other triggers do this today, but I think this is a really cool feature to have. Download the Godox Flash App to control your flash remotely from your phone or tablet. You can adjust power or group settings, even if the trigger is out of reach on a rig or high stand. This feature improves convenience and quickly feels natural to use. Saves you from having to go to the trigger constantly when you need to be away from it. Lazy? No way. Convenience all the way.
The lithium-ion battery is rechargeable via USB-C and can last up to a month in standby mode (that’s some serious standby life). Couple that reliability with the creative controls offered by this trigger, and you have an accessory that’s hard to resist. The X3Pro allows you to set up long exposures, time lapses, and interval shooting directly from the touchscreen. You can also trigger these using the Godox XR/TR-RX receivers to effectively minimize body vibration, which might come from pressing the camera’s shutter button.
With all the features mentioned above, the Godox X3Pro sets itself apart from being just an everyday wireless trigger to a compact control center for professional lighting setups. We’re hoping to get one on our hands to test out with the Ad 400 Pro II strobe.
