A List of Canon Gear Retiring in 2025

If you have recently purchased a Canon camera or are looking to buy a new one, you must think about its repair period. For the unversed, it is the time set by the company at which they will gladly take the camera for repair or service if it is still on its repair support list. If not, you have to look at other options, as the company may not service it past the date. Canon Japan recently updated its repair support list, and there are several cameras and lenses whose period ends in 2025. Let’s have a look.

Canon Repair Support Ending for Cameras in 2025

The list, per Canon Japan, includes some excellent models, such as the Canon 6D and Canon Rebel T6i/750D. Here are the other models:

• EOS Kiss X80/Canon EOS Rebel T6 | April 2025: Launched in 2016, the Rebel T6 is a beginner-friendly camera that features an 18MP APS-C sensor, a DIGIC 4+ image processor, 3fps burst shooting, and a 9-point autofocus system.
• EOS Kiss X8i/EOS Rebel T6i | August 2025: Announced a year prior to the T6, the T6i is another entry-level APS-C camera with a 24.2MP sensor and 19 autofocus points. It has a continuous shooting speed of 5fps, has a pop-up flash, and can shoot full HD clips at 30fps.

• EOS 6D | September 2025: A 20MP full frame camera launched in 2012, the 6D features 11 autofocus points, 4.5fps of continuous shooting, and ISO up to 12,800. It is a camera we liked in our review, thanks to high ISO images, a silent shutter, and a good build.
• PowerShot G3 X | September 2025: Available since 2015, the G3 X features a 1-inch type 20.2MP CMOS sensor and a f2.8- 5.6 24-600mm equivalent lens. There is also a 3.2-inch tilting touch screen, which can record full HD video at 60p, and a continuous shooting speed of 5.9fps.
• EOS-1V and EOS-1V HS | October 2025: Both are professional SLR 35mm cameras that have shutter durability of 150,000 cycles, 10fps of continuous shooting, and flash sync at 1/250th.

Canon Repair Support Ending for Lenses in 2025

Like cameras, some lenses are also ending their support this year. Here is a quick look:

• EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM | May 2025: Released in 2010, the lens is created using 20 elements in 15 groups, 9 aperture blades, and a 72mm front filter thread.
• EF 20mm f2.8 USM | July 2025: With an angle of view of 94°, the 20mm has a magnification of 0.14x, 5 aperture blades, and weighs 405g. It was released in 2013.
• EF 28mm f1.8 USM | July 2025: With 7 aperture blades, the 28mm was created with 9 elements in 7 groups. Also introduced in 2013, it was far lighter, weighing 261g.

• EF 100mm f2 USM | July 2025: One of the oldest lenses, launched in 2010, the 100mm featured 8 elements in 6 groups, 8 aperture blades, and a 58mm filter thread.
• EF 400mm f2.8L IS II USM | June 2025: Announced in 2011, the 400mm was created with 16 elements in 12 groups, 9 aperture blades, and a 52mm filter size.
• EF 600mm f4L IS II USM | July 2025: Weighing 3920g, the 600mm features similar specs to the 400mm. It was also announced in 2011.
• EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS STM | August 2025: Launched in 2013, this is a kit lens for the Canon 100D and 700D. It has 7 aperture blades, a 0.25 close focusing distance, and 205g of weight.
