Nikon has some exceptional cameras in their arsenal. The company has launched devices that help professionals, semi-professionals, and enthusiasts in their endeavours. For instance, their DSLR range has some fascinating offerings, which, while old, continue to shine even today. If you are someone who wants an old camera with a certain image quality, then the cameras listed here can be of help to you.
Nikon Df
The Nikon Df is a predecessor to the newly launched Zf. The camera offers a digital internal system with a mechanical, rangefinder built on the outside. Almost 15 years old now, the camera was Nikon’s attempt to give photographers a retro-built camera, and today, it is pretty popular. It houses a 16MP full-frame sensor, an optical viewfinder, and a burst rate of 5.5fps. There are also 39 AF points, which may not seem enough for today’s time. However, it makes up for it in other areas, such as image quality, higher ISO, colors, and RAW file versatility. If you shoot with the wrong exposure, you can still easily recover the details. If you wish to get it, you must use it for an event, a street, or still life.
Nikon D500

The Nikon D500 came after the popular D300. The camera is designed for past-paced shooting, offering a burst rate of 10fps and packing a 20MP sensor. It is lightweight and has a touch-screen menu. Those who want to post their images online get WiFi. There is also a good battery life, the RAW files can pull in the details from overexposed shots, and the build quality is designed to last for a long time. As we said in our review, “Though I’m not perfectly 100% sure, I think that the sensor in the D500 can pretty much get the same amount of detail from the highlights that the a6300 and X Pro 2 can. The D500 beats the a6300 at higher ISO settings but is only a bit behind the X Pro 2.” If you are a beginner keen on photojournalism, this one is for you.
Nikon D850

The Nikon D850 was introduced just before Nikon went mirrorless. It is a successor to the D810, and it comes with a 45MP full-frame sensor and 153 AF points. The camera is pretty interesting since it has a lot of fantastic features. In our review, we found that the camera’s build is exceptional, making it perfect for rugged environments. There is also better image quality and excellent color depth, and the RAW files will make your life easy. Moreover, the menu is better, and you get a 4K video option for hybrid shooters. If you want a second camera for their daily needs without breaking the bank, then the D850 is a good choice.
Nikon’s DSLRs are with every penny you spend, and the three on the list are an example of that. If you are interested in old school tech then you must give these cameras a go.
