Godox has officially unveiled the AD400Pro II, the new version of its popular all-in-one outdoor flash. This model improves on the original AD400Pro with faster sync, ultra-fast freeze features, and a redesigned control experience, all while keeping the same compact 400Ws size. It has many features that a flash has, but in a strobe!
What’s New
Godox has been consistently updating its lighting products and releasing flashes and strobes that challenge more established brands. Their latest release demonstrates their commitment to improving tools for working photographers. The new Godox AD400Pro II takes everything people loved about the original AD400Pro, including portability, versatility, and strong wireless integration, and adds performance upgrades that fit modern shooting needs. Freeze Mode now provides ultra-short flash durations that can capture fast action. Smarter group control makes it much easier to manage multiple lights. With a bi-color modeling lamp, an improved user interface, and extended TTL compatibility, the AD400Pro II is more than just a minor update; it’s a strobe designed for speed, control, and creative flexibility.
Ultra-Fast Freeze Mode

Now capable of incredibly short durations – from 1/3,470 s to 1/27,770 s (t0.1); the AD 400Pro II allows you to freeze motion with stunning clarity. That means you can capture clear details in splashing water, sports portraits of fast-moving athletes, or any moving subjects for that matter. With a recycle time as fast as 0.01 seconds, the strobe is always ready for the next shot.
1/512 Fine Power Control

The AD 400Pro II offers you 1/512 to full power range, with 10 stops in 0.1-step increments – perfect for precise exposure tweaking
30 W Bi-Color Modeling Lamp

The 30 W bi-color LED now spans 2800 K to 6000 K, and is adjustable between 10% and 100% brightness, and offers both Constant and PROP mode (brightness follows flash output). Its high CRI/TLCI ratings also make it suitable for hybrid video use.
One-Tap X3 Sync & Group Color Indicators

Syncing multiple lights is now simpler. With 16 color-coded groups, each light has its own visual identity. This helps you quickly recognize and manage them, no matter the conditions. Choose the group’s color on the display, adjust the output or sync. This helps keep your attention on the shoot instead of the setup.
Intuitive Color Display & Controls

The interface now includes a 2.4″ full-color TFT display and retains the familiar rotating dial. This change makes it faster and easier to adjust settings. Press and hold the modeling lamp button to turn it on or off. This gives you quick control at your fingertips and helps improve your workflow.
Who Should Be Interested In The Godox AD400Pro II

Photographers who switch between studio, location, and hybrid photo/video work will find that the AD400Pro II offers professional power in a compact 400Ws body. It’s easy to carry and seamlessly integrates into the Godox 2.4GHz Wireless X system. For unlimited shooting, the strobe can run on AC power using the optional AC400 adapter. When it’s time to recharge, the UC46 USB charger fills the battery back to full in just 1.5 hours. The strobe comes with a built-in Godox mount and a Bowens adapter, giving you quick access to many modifiers. The adapter attaches without covering the native Godox mount, so you can use both systems.
Whether you are freezing water splashes, lighting outdoor portraits, or getting consistent product shots, this update is made to keep up. It remains the AD400Pro at heart but is now faster, sharper, and smarter.
